Hog and Sag issues

Category Description

Once loading is applied to a beam or other long item, it will deform into a hogging or sagging shape. The stress on a hull of the ship or keel that causes the centre or keel to bend upward is known as hogging. If a wave is the same length as the ship and the ship is in the trough of two waves, the ship's hull or keel is subjected to sagging.
